HISTORY:
The dance that identifies the man is joropo Plainsman. In this dance dance expresses the Plainsman pride, bravery, machismo, and some activities of its natural environment. According to the maestro Alberto Londono joropo comes from the Arabic word meaning Xarop syrup. Regarding their origin, is believed to have its roots in the Old Continent, because apparently the joropo born of flamenco and Andalusian dances brought by the Spanish missions during the colonial period, of which some features are still conserved (the tap ) but it is considered that the joropo not a copy of European dances in mention. Probably the footwork of flamenco and Andalusian dances influenced the initial shaping our joropo, but with all the elements that gave the fusion of cultures and tap joropo is special, took root in our environment to adapt and amended in accordance with the interests and feelings of our communities. Due to this is "our joropo" a ball pen, suitable for the recreation of our people, the Ranger, with which they celebrate their festivals, family, religious and cultural.
